- Geoff,
-
- I liked the names Ninja and Vortex at first, but when they started showing up on
- 2 or 3 different coasters with even the same logos and advertisement lines "The
- Black Belt of Roller Coasters", they sort of wore thin on me. I like unique
- names for my coasters. I hate duplicates. Duplicate names make it confusing to
- talk about without adding "Vortex at KI" or "Ninja at Magic Mountain". Not only
- that but have you seen the logos for the Vortex at KI, the Vortex at Great
- America, Santa Clara (the name Great America is another story altogether), and
- the Vortex at Canada's Wonderland. They look the same except the track the robot
- is twisting. One is a standup, the other is a suspend, the third is just arrow
- track. Back in the golden ages of coasters there must have been hundreds of
- Scenic Railways, Big Dipper, Cyclones, and Coasters. I guess it would have been
- too hard to have come up with 1500 different unique names. So I guess that 3 or
- 4 Vortex's isn't really too bad considering.
