- >Alright Buck, thank you for elaborating. My next question is : who/what is
- >CEO at Cedarfair? It sounds important.
-
- I forget the man's name off the top of my head, but CedarFair Ltd.
- is the company which owns/operates Cedar Point, ValleyFair!, and
- Dorney Park. CEO = Chief Executive Officer. This man is also
- President of CedarFair Ltd., fwiw. Janice Lifke, Cedar Point's PR
- Person, also verbally verified what the CedarFair CEO/President had
- to say re: future expansion projects.
-
- If they were keeping a surprise coaster installation under-wraps,
- then why would they public tout an installation in 1994? Also,
- I surely would have heard through the grape-vine about the project
- (unannounced contracts have their ways of leaking into the public),
- and to date I've not heard anything in the way of a coaster project
- at Cedar Point.
-
-
- BUT, here's one way to find out. Building permits are public record.
- If you go to the town hall in Sandusky, there would be a building
- permit for a new coaster with Cedar Point's name on it. Said permit
- would also have the contractors name on it (this is how the Arrow
- mine train at Silver Dollar City was "discovered" while the park was
- trying to keep it's debut a secret).
-
-
- >What convinced me about their story was them coming out and saying that CP
- >OWNS and HAS OWNED the rights to the ride.
-
- Hmmmm, I must admit that is the first time I've heard that. I'm not
- sure what to think about it either, as last year, Morey's Pier in
- Wildwood, NJ, was displaying a model of the PIPELINE coaster at the
- park. The park also said it had a "one year exclusive rights" on the ride.
-
- ???
-
-
- >One more question--is it definite that Pipeline will Debut in 1993? If so, how
- >is this known?
-
- Well, for one thing, Randy Geisler, Ex-ACE President, recently reported
- in ACE NEWS that a) the pipeline has been sold to a park in the US, and
- b) the coaster will make it's public debut in 1993. ACE NEWS makes a
- habit of not reporting rumors or "probabilities", so you can vouche
- for any news read in the newsletter. The park in question has contacted
- ACE with the information that the coaster has been bought, and will be
- errected next year, but as asked to remain annonymous for the time
- being.
-
-
-
- All for now,
- Buck
