- Yes indeed. I had just returned from a trip to California so that I
- didn't have time to prepare for the hurricane. So, I went to my parents
- house. It is a good thing too. Their aluminum awning came loose in the
- 90-120 mile per hour winds. My father and I had to go outside and
- yank it down before it battered the roof in. My father was genuinely
- scared of the storm. Since there was very little lightning, I was
- not terribly concerned.
-
- I found out that it is rather hard to breathe in 120 MPH winds. Also,
- rain hits you like hard, little rocks when it is traveling at such
- speeds. I have ridden roller coasters in the rain, but this was
- a totally new experience.
-
- The eye of the storm just missed the town of Breaux Bridge (where my
- parents live). So I told my father that I would have to keep my
- eyes peeled for the next hurricane which might be striking the
- Gulf Coast, because I felt cheated.
-
- I feel it is best not to repeat here on USENET what my father said to me!
- :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
