- You forgot to add the remaining last two that are now gone. The Laser Loop that used to
- be at Kennywood was a Flywheel. The King Kobra that used to be at Kings Dominion was a
- counterweight. The last was the White Lightnin' at Carowinds. Another Counterweight.
- What ever happened to these last three shuttle loops?
-
- I feel that I always got the greatest sensation of speed from the Flywheel ones. This
- could also be attributed to the fact that Montazooma's Revenge and the Greezed Lightnin
- had something just before the loop to zoom through that would give the preception of
- even greater speed. MR has that loop and GL has that outhouse looking shack. I really
- get a rush out of GL. That coaster really takes my breath away. If you have never
- ridden one of these, make plans to catch one in the next several years. Because of
- maintenance problems they experience, it may not be too long before these become an
- endangered species.
-
- I am not too fond of the Arrow versions such as Afterburner (the old Zoomerang at Circus
- World/Double O at Boardwalk and Baseball), the Black Widow (Loop Coaster) at Riverview,
- Lightnin' Loops at Great Adventure, and the old Screamin' Demon (or Demon at Kings
- Island). They are pretty exciting but they have hurt my back more times than I care to
- remember. If you don't sit up 100% straight, when you go through the loop, gravity
- presses down directly on your spine. I really got in bad shape one day on the Zoomerang
- trying to scoot down and brace my feet in the front car while holding a camera steady.
- I almost couldn't walk, sit, ..... It was something.
