- No, this cannot happen. NI-CAds batteries are usually not
- generating any explosive gaz and therefore should never explode
- in a air tight environement. There are some actual stories of
- RC models submarines exploding under the water because of Lead-
- Acid batteries, poorly charged and placed in the same location as the
- electric motor. In all cases, you should never put your batteries
- in the same compartment as the motor. Be also careful to the wiring :
- Gaz must no be able to pass from the batteries compartment to the
- motor compartment. One solution used by a lot of modelers is to
- use sealed lead acid batteries set directly into the water. Therefore all
- bad and hazardous gaz, if any, run directly to the water.
