- My brother owns a 1984 Skyhawk which had the same problem. I seem to recall
- that GM had a recall for this problem sometime around 1985/86 (I don't think
- that "recall" is the correct term -- this was a voluntary thing). The problem
- was in the switch's design. He had the switch replaced and, some 100k miles
- later, no problems.
