  13. I found the MC (mixture control or "duty cycle") solenoid and
  14. disconnected it. No suprise, the problem is gone. This mimics the
  15. situation where the engine temp is low, and the coolant sensor
  16. overrides the other electronic fuel control components leading to a 
  17. "full rich" mixture.

  19. The problem seems to involve the electronic fuel contol system when it
  20. is calling for a "leaner" mixture.

  22. A good first candidate is the "oxygen sensor"($50) which protrudes
  23. from the manifold measuring the
  24. exhaust gas composition. I have heard from someone who replaced his
  25. after dozensof visits to the repair shop, and it was the ticket in his case. He
  26. also said this was done under a recall for the emission system. Does
  27. anyone have any information about this recall ?
