  15. and auto quality/dealer integrity etc, etc, etc.....

  21. I *had* a 1987 Pontiac Grand AM SE Turbo (OHC, MFI). This had an
  22. Al head, unfortunately. Excessive warping caused two successive
  23. head gasket failures. These manifested themselves as coolant
  24. from the water jacket entering the chamber (#2). This would short
  25. everything and blow the coil, EI, etc.

  28. Well the second time it happened, it wasn't under warranty. I wasn't
  29. sure this was the same problem (it was not as severe), since all I
  30. witnessed was coolant consumption (not leakage). (btw no H2O got
  31. into the oil).

  34. I added some silver solder to plug what I thought was a small
  35. imperceptible radiator leak.OOPS!!! This *welded* the #2
  36. spark plug into the Al head - broke in half at the threads.

  40. Beware the above remedy it can be *very* troublesome.
