- I've noticed an odd wear pattern on one of the rear tires of my Toyota
- Celica that has
- caused the car to become excessively noisy. The tire tread has worn so
- that it is scalloped
- against the direction of rotation - the tread is raised in the direction
- of rotation and
- then dishes in. Each tread section appears to be worn like this. The
- car was returned to
- the dealer who found nothing wrong - at the time, I complained of
- excessive road noise, but
- hadn't recognized the tire wear.
-
- Does anyone have a clue why a tire would wear this way? I'm trying to
- isolate the problem
- to a defective tire or a mechanical problem before the warranty runs out.
-
- Thanks
