- Yes. I have had the same problem with my '90 tercel. The used car buyers
- guide had pointed the problem about the '89 ('88?) when I decided to buy
- the '90. They said "the engine sags when warming up." I couldn't check it out
- when I test drove the vehicle. So I have been stuck with it since the day I
- bought the car. Only if I had checked the engine temp gauge while test driving!
-
- My guess is that the carbuerator leans the fuel too much to
- warm up the engine quickly. Then, it returns to normal after the engine
- is warm. Toyota was probably trying to make some emissions and/or fuel
- economy spec that needed a warm engine pretty quick. Of course I could be
- wrong and there might just be a problem with the O-ring.
