- Actually neither. The top speed is measured over the last 100 feet of
- the track which means it is an average over that range. In any case,
- a computed average acceleration has little meaning because the cars do
- not accelerate at a constant rate.

- Of more relevance, though in my experience of dubious accuracy, is the
- peak G force recorded by the on-board RacePack computer. This is typically
- 5 G +- a few tenths at launch. Pro Stock cars run a tad over 4 G.
- I'm currently evaluating a RacePack computer here in my lab and based
- on my preliminary observations, I'd regard those numbers as +- half a G or
- so.
