- A friend asked me to adjust the clutch on his 86 Jetta, but it has a mechani
- sm like no other I have ever seen. Instead of the expected nylon thumbscrew
- there is contraption with ball bearings in it, but no sign of any threaded
- adjustment. I have looked at other Jettas, but none have this arrangement.
- Can anyone shed some light on this? My reputation as a mechanic is on the
- line. In fiddling with the thing it seems to have loosened so now the clutch
- won't disengage at all. Thanks, Lee
