- Having recently developed a hunger for Pro-Logic, I am in need
- of new main speakers. (actually, my first set of decent speakers)
-
- I am new to the speaker department, and need whatever advice can be
- given. Since I will be using these speakers to reproduce pro-logic
- movie sound as well as music, I need good response from the deep lows
- to the (high?) highs.
-
- From what I have seen, the possibilities include:
-
- - Satellite/sub systems
- - Full-range speakers
- - Full-range with separate subwoofer
-
- Ideally, I would like a system that brings tears to your eyes (meaning
- good bass, among other things!), but unfortunately, cost is an object.
-
- Does anyone have any experience with the dbx all-in-ones from DAK? That
- model _looks_ good--15" subs built in, mid, ribbon tweeter, and one or
- two other drivers. Then there is the Cambridge SoundWorks Ensemble II
- (but those woofers are only 6.x").
-
- The Subwoofer from dbx also looks good--15" in its own cabinet (great
- price--$150, and I have heard good things from people who have them)
-
- Please post or email--I'll summarize.
