- Thanks to all the many folks who took the time to e-mail me. I'll be sending
- personal thank-you notes over the next few days.

- Here's a summary of the responses, in case anyone else is planning to get
- ham plates:

- + Any DMV office can handle this; just tell them you want ham plates.

- + You can do this on your initial registration; you don't need to get a
- "normal" plate first.

- + Don't forget to bring in a copy of your ham license; better bring
- the original along, too, just in case.

- + These plates may or may not be vanity plates, depending on your
- definition.

- + There's a one-time extra charge for the ham plates, but it's very
- small, on the order of 10 bucks.

- + You'll get the old-style (yellow) plates, not the ones with the
- tree. (Shucks. I like the tree plate.)
