  16. filling up my mailbox now.  :-)

  18. Thanks to all the many folks who took the time to e-mail me.  I'll be sending
  19. personal thank-you notes over the next few days.

  21. Here's a summary of the responses, in case anyone else is planning to get
  22. ham plates:

  24.     + Any DMV office can handle this; just tell them you want ham plates.
  25.  
  26.     + You can do this on your initial registration; you don't need to get a
  27.       "normal" plate first.
  28.  
  29.     + Don't forget to bring in a copy of your ham license; better bring
  30.       the original along, too, just in case.
  31.  
  32.     + These plates may or may not be vanity plates, depending on your
  33.       definition.
  34.  
  35.     + There's a one-time extra charge for the ham plates, but it's very
  36.       small, on the order of 10 bucks.

  38.     + You'll get the old-style (yellow) plates, not the ones with the
  39.       tree.  (Shucks. I like the tree plate.)
