  13. Ah yes, another beautiful sunny day in NYC.  Let's skim through
  14. the local corruption and idiocy that runs rampant here.  Hmmmm.
  15. ...I see that our fire department training facility has had its
  16. specially designed, propane burning, simulated fire training 
  17. facility "out of order" for the past two years.  I guess Dumb
  18. Dave Dinkins figures the fire fighters can practice on real
  19. fires.  Hell, we know that your chances of surviving a heart
  20. attack in NYC are lower than 1 in 10 based on EMS response,
  21. why not match that with your firefighters.

  23. Whoops, look no further, the city comptroller, Liz Holtzman
  24. (another weasel running for office) found that the Health Department
  25. inspectors had been goofing off.  Let's read a little closer and
  26. find out that there are 6 inspectors and 1 supervisor assigned to
  27. inspect almost 3000 public and private day-care facilities.
  28. Doing rough math, 3000/6 = 500.  So each inspector must inspect
  29. 500 centers a year.  Yup yup yup, I'm sure they won't miss much.
  30. Especially after they fill out everything in triplicate.

  32. To close this drama off in the distance we see Mario Cuomo in a
  33. clown suit and Dave Dinkins in a dog suit sining "Gimme mo' money"
  34. to anyone who passes nearby.
