- The free report is part of a deal TRW cut with the Attorneys General of
- several states that got together and charged them with [something
- having to do with running a sloppy operation and screwing up people's
- lives with inaccurate credit reports]. TRW pleaded "no contest," and
- promised to shape up. Part of the deal was allowing free access to
- reports for consumers, so they can verify that their report is
- accurate.

- I agree that the requested information is no big deal. If you make
- money or have credit, they're going to open a file on you ANYWAY, and
- there is NOTHING you can do about it. Might as well help 'em keep it
- accurate.
