  22. that i am not pleased with my phonemate and would not recommend the
  23. company from my experience.

  25. there are bugs built into the design, bugs not built into the design,
  26. and bad customer service, in my opinion.

  28. in mine, there is a battery that keeps message count, time, etc.
  29. current.  the built in bug is that there is no fail safe.  if the
  30. battery runs out (it is supposed to last 6 hours) then all new
  31. incoming messages overwrite any messages that you had.  it is not set
  32. to not answer or to leave the head at the end of the tape like other
  33. machines.

  35. a non built-in bug is that callers get cut off randomly.  the setting
  36. of the cpc switch does not affect this behavior.  another non built-in
  37. bug is that the battery doesn't work.  if the power goes off for only
  38. a few minutes, then the machine resets as described above.  another
  39. problem is that you can't set the personal memo remotely.

  41. when i called phonemate i was shunted to non-800 numbers.  they had me
  42. on hold for a while and did not have competent staff answering (they
  43. tried to tell me basics of operation instead of listening to the
  44. description of the two types of bug displayed by the unit).  they were
  45. not interested in standing by the product and would not fix the built
  46. in bug under the warranty or not.  the procedure for fixing the non
  47. built in bugs under the warranty were prohibitive and not promising.
