- Several people have reported having serious difficulties (e.g. compiler
- crashes, undefined externals) when compiling C++ code with the g++ compiler,
- using the -g option under System V Release 4.
-
- Sadly, these reports seem to be appearing in inappropriate newsgroups.
-
- Please folks, if you find such bugs, they should be reported (as described
- in the GNU C manual) by filing a proper bug report the gnu.g++.bug
- newsgroup. Do not report such problems in the gnu.gcc.bug newsgroup or
- in either the gnu.gcc.help or gnu.g++.help newsgroups. Those are
- incorrect places to report bugs in the gnu g++ compiler.
-
- Anyway, for those of you are are having difficulty compiling code with
- g++ unsder SVR4 (when using the -g option) I direct your attention to
- the message I just posted to the gnu.g++.bug newsgroup. It has a Subject
- line of: " New fixes for g++ problems (with -g) on SVR4 systems." That
- message contains compiler patches which may be useful to you. See that
- message (in gnu.g++.bug) for further details.
