  13. I have built emacs 18.58 for a network of Sparc stations running
  14. SunOS4.1.1, but I would now like to build it for Solaris 2.0, as we
  15. are now beginning the upgrade process.  I am building on a Sparc IPC,
  16. and it runs Solaris 2.0/SunOS 5.0.  I am using SPARCompiler C 2.0.  To
  17. configure the setup, I used the m-sparc.h file and the s- file for
  18. SVR4.

  20. I am able to build through the first directory (etc/ I think), but I
  21. crash after generating and trying to use the xmakefile in src/.  It
  22. (make) complains that it doesn't know how to make $(LOCALCPP).  I
  23. didn't think I'd need to build the local cpp, but the xmakefile seems
  24. to think it does.  If anyone else has had luck building under similar
  25. circumstances, please let me know - terescoj@tardis.union.edu.  I will
  26. post whatever I had to do if I can figure it out.  Any help would be
  27. appreciated.
