  15. Under GNUS or VM, or even elsewhere, crypt.el works *very* nicely when
  16. you save to compressed files, uncompressing the data in the buffer and
  17. then recompressing before writing the data out!
  18.  
  19. Has anyone patched crypt to intercept this when foo.Z does *not*
  20. exist.  Possibly some of the other writing routines might also have to
  21. be patched.  For the moment the workaround is to save under GNUS or
  22. VM, and then switch to the saved buffer and execute `compress-mode'!

  24. Has anyone automated this process?
