- I am using RCS version 5.5, and I've hit a problem caused by a system
- system crash while I was checking in a file.
-
- When my system rebooted, and I retried the command, I get the
- following error from RCS:
-
- tcsh> ci -u my.file
- ci error: RCS file RCS/my.file,v is in use
-
- This is probably caused by an open lock on the RCS file, left when the
- system crashed. How can I remove this lock, to get back to the point
- where I can check my file in?
-
- Look for a ",my.file" (COMMA file) & remove it.
-
- In addition, has anyone made changes to rcs 5.6 so that when i do an
- rcs -u
- it will also change the mode of the file, discard the changes, and do
- a 'co'. This is like doing 'rcs -u' from within Emacs using the rcs.el
- package.
-
- Thanks,
-
