  30. What you will need to do is to get ahold of either the X11R3 or X11R4 clients
  31. and demos available from the DECUS Library.  This code will contain among
  32. other things a routine to correctly find the root window on a DECwindows/VMS
  33. display which you can then use to change the background.  In the X11R3 stuff
  34. there was a program called XGRANITE that does what you boss wants.  Otherwise,
  35. you're going to have to come up with you own granite bitmap.
