- All the points on the list would obviously be useful enhancements to
- the Calendar Manager. But I am curious as to why the compilers of this
- petition feel that Sun *should* provide all the extra features. In my
- opinion, the calenday manager, and most of the other desket tools, are
- useful, relatively lightwight free tools provided by Sun as a courtesy
- (other systems I have seen, eg IBM, HP) do not come with tools which
- are anywhere near as useful.
-
- Why should Sun put the time and money into enhancing the tools? May
- companies provide the features asked for in commercial products. If
- Sun were to add all the items in this petition would people be
- prepared to pay extra for the Calendar Manager?
-
- I would, however, like to get hold of the spec for interfacing to the
- calendar manager demon, and feel that this is something we should
- expect from Sun in the interest of Open Systems (so I could, for
- instance, develop a compatible CM on an HP).
