  14. Hello,
  15. I need a working version of Xview3 on a DECstation (Ultrix4.2A, X11R4). I
  16. managed to compile the XView3.0 sources, and many things do work quite well
  17. (e.g. olwm...), but with other applications I get core dumps. These
  18. applications include
  19.  
  20.     - cmdtool
  21.     - textedit
  22.     - some special image processing applications written for XView
  23.       (the ones I'm interested in)
  24.  
  25. These applications die with a core dump due to kernel access.
  26.  
  27. On gatekeeper.dec.com, there are precompiled binaries of Xview, but the result
  28. is exactly the same.

  30. Does anybody have an Idea what could help. I assume that the problem may be
  31. the reverse byte ordering of DEC machines with respect to SUN's. Any patches?

  33. Any help is *** VERY *** welcome since I need these applications quite
  34. urgently.
