- I have tried unsuccessfully to use the "trick" suggested in topic 35 of the
- "comp.windows.x" FAQ for starting a console window between XDM sessions by
- altering the program used as "xrdb". I am trying to use "contool" under
- OpenWindows 3.0 (SunOS 4.1.2).
-
- The symptom is that the console window appears and immediately disappears
- before the authentication window is displayed. I have tried disabling
- authentication entirely, but that has no effect. Apparently, the server is
- being reset just before the authentication widget comes into play, thus
- killing any existing clients. (I also tried explicitly setting
- "*resetForAuth" false.)
-
- Am I overlooking something, or is there some other way to get a between-
- session console window to work?
