  11.
  12. I have tried unsuccessfully to use the "trick" suggested in topic 35 of the
  13. "comp.windows.x" FAQ for starting a console window between XDM sessions by
  14. altering the program used as "xrdb".  I am trying to use "contool" under
  15. OpenWindows 3.0 (SunOS 4.1.2).
  16.
  17. The symptom is that the console window appears and immediately disappears
  18. before the authentication window is displayed.  I have tried disabling
  19. authentication entirely, but that has no effect.  Apparently, the server is
  20. being reset just before the authentication widget comes into play, thus
  21. killing any existing clients.  (I also tried explicitly setting
  22. "*resetForAuth" false.)
  23.
  24. Am I overlooking something, or is there some other way to get a between-
  25. session console window to work?
