- "UnErase" is a registered trademark of Symantec (ne Peter Norton Utilities).
- I assume you are asking for a generic capability.
-
- The Norton Utilities for System V includes this capability for INTERACTIVE,
- SCO and AT&T V.3.2 systems and provides a very reliable and configurable
- service for recovering deleted files. Support for other systems (V.4, Apple,
- IBM, HP, ...) is in limbo.
-
- LoneStar's ButtSaver provides a less reliable mechanism to recover VERY
- RECENTLY deleted files on old-style (non-bitmap-freelist) file systems.
- The LoneStar product is less costly but works on a wider range of platforms.
