  33. The Sun User Group is pleased to announce its Tenth Annual Conference 
  34. and Exhibit, which will address the current state of the Sun Operating 
  35. System. Technical papers and presentations concerning both Solaris 
  36. and alternates to it, as well as other topics of interest to the Sun/SPARC 
  37. community, are invited. Manufacturers of computer equipment and software 
  38. based on SPARC/SunOS technology are encouraged to participate with 
  39. conference presentations, as well as in the associated exhibition 
  40. which will be operated by Publications and Communications, Inc.

  43. Topics on which we are soliciting papers:
  44.      Solaris 2.0: What's in it for You
  45.     Solaris 2.0 on Intel
  46.     Other OS for SPARC
  47.     System Administration - beginning and advanced tools
  48.     Printing and Multimedia
  49.     Programming and Development Environments
  50.     Suns in the Office and the Home 
  51.     Realtime and Non-Realtime Development and Research

  54. There will also be a Technical Product track. Vendors are invited 
  55. to describe the compelling technical advantages of their products, 
  56. with references to current and new material. Papers which merely profile 
  57. a company's product are poorly received and therefore have little 
  58. chance of being accepted for presentation.

  61. SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
  62.  
  63. Submissions should be in the form of extended abstracts (750 to 1000 
  64. words) and be sufficiently complete to allow the committee to understand 
  65. and evaluate the submission. Abstracts should include:
  66.  
  67.      1. Author name(s), postal and e-mail address(es), and telephone 
  68. number(s).
  69.     2. Title of the paper
  70.     3. Presenter name(s), postal and e-mail address(es), and 
  71. telephone number(s).
  72.     4. Time needed for presentation/questions
  73.         (slots are available in lengths of 30, 45, 60, or 90 minutes)
  74.     5. Audio-visual equipment requirements.
  75.  
  76. There will be a cash award for the best student paper. Be sure to 
  77. indicate WITH YOUR SUBMISSION your student status.

  79. Authors whose submissions are accepted will receive instructions for 
  80. the preparation of final papers. All presentations REQUIRE 
  81. a paper submission for inclusion in the conference proceedings.  One 
  82. presenter for each paper accepted will receive free conference registration.
