- I am having a problem using WordPerfect 5.0 on a DECstation running Ultrix with
- the current working directory on an NFS served device. All of my user's
- directories will be served from our primary server to all client workstations
- so this problem essentially stops us from using WP. Also, we use the
- automounter extensively.
-
- Whenever WP accesses the NFS served disk (to either read in a file or write one
- out) I get an error message similar to:
-
- Error: File in use by root ---/tmp_mnt/ford/ed8200/ed8200/u/cannell/x.wpf
-
- The user (who supposedly has the file in use, in this case root) is sometimes
- other users who are logged on the system and who have nothing at all to do
- with this file or directory, so it seems to be just gibberish.
-
- I have to believe that there is someone else in this big world who uses the
- same combination of software (nfs, automounter, and WP) that has also come
- upon this problem.
-
- Any help would be appreciated.
