- Dear all,
-
- I am planning on getting a Exabyte 8500 soon and decided to call
- DEC to ask them about the 8500 and how they support it. Well,
- guess what, it seems that DEC does not fully support it. According
- to them you can only write up to 2Gig of information on the
- non-rewind version [rewind I bet also] of their tape drives. I did
- ask them why they do not support more [since the 8500 are out and
- they *SELL* such products] and they said they do not know why.
- Well, I am kind of upset and would like to ask if anyone has a
- solution for such a problem. How can you take advantage of a 8500
- when DEC won't even write up to half of the tape.
