- Hi,
-
- I've been trying to use the DEC supplied lpr and have found it rather basic
- to say the least. My previous experience with such things has involved the
- use of Transcript.
-
- The main reason for this posting is to please for assistance from someone in
- the DEC world with getting the "lpr -t" function to work. I see from the
- man page that the default setting for a printcap entry for a printer is to
- NOT set anything to support any troff filtering. How, pray tell, am I
- supposed to use this function then - psychic powers?
-
- I have to say that I have not been impressed with the abilities of the DEC
- lpr, and it does appear to have problems processing Postscript output
- produced by dvitps from TeX files (oh yes, THERE's another filter that is
- never supplied by these all powerful computer manufacturing corporations)
- whereas other machines have zero trouble.
-
- Any help from the ether would be appreciated. Thanks.
