  13. I've been trying to use the DEC supplied lpr and have found it rather basic
  14. to say the least.  My previous experience with such things has involved the
  15. use of Transcript.

  17. The main reason for this posting is to please for assistance from someone in
  18. the DEC world with getting the "lpr -t" function to work.  I see from the
  19. man page that the default setting for a printcap entry for a printer is to
  20. NOT set anything to support any troff filtering.  How, pray tell, am I
  21. supposed to use this function then - psychic powers?

  23. I have to say that I have not been impressed with the abilities of the DEC
  24. lpr, and it does appear to have problems processing Postscript output 
  25. produced by dvitps from TeX files (oh yes, THERE's another filter that is
  26. never supplied by these all powerful computer manufacturing corporations)
  27. whereas other machines have zero trouble.
