- Can someone tell me, how to install MS v4.1 for SCO Unix 3.2v4.0 ?
- You will not believe the following story, but it is true:
-
- Last week we got MS v4.1 from our german distributor
- "Garmhausen & Partner". We have a support contract with them.
-
- We got two floppy disks, labelled "UA 1" and "UA 2". There was no
- paper in the envelope, which says how to install it. I guessed it must
- be installed with custom, but the "UA1" disk was not in tar-format.
- The UA2 disk looked like a custom disk, it had the label file
- "./tmp/label...", but disk UA1 contains a file system.
- I called the hotline of our distributor, asked them how to install
- this two disks and got the answer there must be 5 disks, not only two.
-
- They promised to sent MS V4.1 again, and today 5 disks arrived,
- labelled "N1 Boot", "N2 Filesys", "Master", "UA01" and "UA02".
- Again there was no paper in the envelope.
- "UA01" contains no filesystem, as with the first "UA01"-disk.
- I called the hotline again and asked how to install this 5 disks. As I
- explained my problem, I got the answer that they don't know how to
- install it. I should call them again next week, then they will know
- how to install MS v4.1. Should I believe it ? :-(
-
- So I ask the net: Can someone help me ?
