- Both with the ODT1.1 and ODT2.0 I have used the 8mm Exabyte tape on a
- Adaptek 1542b host adapter. In both cases, the problem is identical.
- After several frustating hours, I have discovered that a sequence of the
- 'tape load','tape rewind','tape reten' commands to the tape will make it work.
- Whether you need to rewind or not is irrelevent. Also after inserting
- the tape in the drive, I must wait atleaset 15 seconds *after* the
- 'tape ready light' comes on.

- the same tape drive works far more smoothly on a sun ipx machine.
