  12. My Consensys SVR4 runs great and _v_e_r_y_ fast on my i486 with SCSI disk,
  13. BUT, when I compile large programs, it does an excellent job at devoting
  14. a vast majority of time to doing just that!  It pretty much inhibits doing
  15. anything else :-(.  While this is fine if that's all I want to do, great,
  16. but it's not.  Especially when I'm in X windows, by the time I enter the
  17. <return> key, it's down several levels make files and compiling before
  18. my screen even shows it.  And going another Xterm is also very slow, as
  19. is the mouse movement.  I am using an Orchid Prodesigner II if this makes
  20. any differenct.  Don't they have an accelator chip for it, and if they do
  21. will this help and is it compatible?  I'm sure there is some simple
  22. solution for this...  Thanks in advance.
