- Did you forget re-running 'evgainit' after building a new kernel?

- Check if 'evgaqry -verbose' (in /usr/sbin) gives the correct
- Trident card answer.

- You can also try a different Trident card or different card with a
- Trident chipset. Also, to my knowledge ESIX has an updated X server
- available on their BBS.
