- You must have a different installation tape than I do (or it flew past so
- quickly I missed it). I did two complete installations of the base system
- plus all of the extra goodies like cnews. I also installed the optional
- sources at least 4 times (don't ask why :-) and saw _nothing_ like you
- mentioned. One of the source directories (I believe it was nn, but I can't
- verify that now) contained a file called DELL.README. This contained
- exactly the information I would like except that it only dealt with that
- one particular program (and you only saw it if you installed the optional
- source then went looking for it).
-
- It would be nice to have one file, whose location is documented prominently
- in "Working With Dell UNIX System V Release 4.0", that steps you through
- everything. Having the sources now makes life easier, but far from _easy_ if
- you aren't really familiar with the products being installed. Before Dell
- started including source with the distribution, and before their FTP sites
- were opened (where source could be obtained), it was extremely difficult to
- use the preinstalled cnews, nntp, nn and rn programs. Its slightly better
- now but could be made a lot easier with just a little more effort on Dell's
- part (not to imply that I don't _really_ appreciate all the effort they've
- already put into it).
