- Hi...
-
- I'm having a helluva time getting my com ports configured
- as I would like. I bought a little while back a serial card
- that gave me two extra com ports, one of which had a 16550 chipset
- with it, so that I could use my Worldblazer modem properly :)
-
- The problem is that I can't get the 4th com port to
- work. As soon as I try and configure FAS 2.09 to recognize
- 4 com ports, the 3rd and 4th freeze up. If I omit the 4th,
- the 3rd works great.
-
- Hmmm...the first problem we had was finding a free interrupt
- for the 4th, so I did a kconfig and freed up 3/4 gendev interrupts...
- that gave me interrupt 5 to play with, which was the first time
- it froze up. I figured that maybe I was having a problem with
- the interrupt being used for something else, so gave up.
-
- This week, we purchased a new hard drive/floppy controller
- as the old one I did not have a manual for (know better the next
- system I buy, that's for sure) and we freed up interrupt 7 as
- we don't use a printer off of this. After reconfiguring
- everything again with the new interrupt, I got the same
- problem...modem freeze.
-
- Now, I need that 4th com port to attach a seperate
- PC to the machine. It is there, but doesn't work. Does anyone
- have any ideas as to the problem? Something to look at?
-
- Oh ya, just in case someone thinks about it, yes, I
- did disable the printer in my sdevice.d files. Also,
- the OS is ISC, as that probably helps also, eh? :)
-
- Hope someone can help...
-
- Thanks in advance...
-
- Marc
