  27. Why not have a look The Netherlands. Here, there are several sites offering
  28. USENET news ("NEABBS" in Amsterdam comes to mind). I don't know their rates,
  29. but they're most likely considerably cheaper than fetching news via an 
  30. intercontinental phone line.
  31. In addition, there are some (at least two that I know of) organizations
  32. through which non-profit users can get a feed.
  33. Finally, you can get read-only feeds from several BBSes, allowing you to
  34. reduce costs to posting only through a possibly more expensive alternative
  35. channel.
