- I've recently installed FAS under Consensys SVR4 - fun! The fubyte
- bug is present in Consensys SVR4 (at least in my version 1.3) The fix in
- a recent UNIX review (posted here) works fine.
- It's great to use 115200 baud to my WorldBlazer. I tried the "e"
- protocol (which is binary-dump, no handshake type) and got 3500cps transfer
- rate! With the uucp-g protocol accelerator in the Telebit, I get about 1800
- to 2100 cps to my friend's machine - his modem is still at 38400. Note: the
- WorldBlazer gives me 26kbps (yes 26, not the 24 they advertise) to my friend's
- modem (another WorldBlazer) within the same telco central office.
- On to FAS installation... all went just as planned. Only thing I
- had to play with, was entries in gettydefs (I have to use the old getty, not
- STREAMS' ttymon) for 38400 baud (no parity, no autobaud)
- I don't know if FAS has anything to do with it (the problem appeared
- a day or two after installing FAS and I didn't touch anything in the UUCP
- sub-system (I sware!)) but I broke the UUCP connection with my friend's
- SPARC I (I mention this elsewhere on the net, yes!) - I can send/receive files
- fine as long as I originate the call. When he calls me, it gives him a
- "protocol error" or something.
- Thanks for any listening!
