  36. We have asked, several times, for volunteers to work on shared libraries for
  37. SVR3.  Jim Tsillas <jtsilla@damon.ccs.northeastern.edu> has volunteered to
  38. help and to coordinate the effort.  Unfortunately, he is just now getting
  39. his system back up after a disk crash (seems Jim doesn't believe in
  40. backups :->).  Please contact him if you are interested in helping.  We
  41. have recently gotten a couple of offers for FTP sites.  We are currently
  42. working on a significant update to X386 1.2E; this will be available on
  43. at least one SVR3 archive.  We haven't decided on a release schedule yet;
  44. if it will be a while, we will put the current X386 1.2E up on the archive
  45. and post an announcement.

  47. The bottom line is that unless people volunteer, the work doesn't get done.
  48. We're not a commercial venture; we don't have extra machines lying around
  49. that we can run 10 different operating systems on.  So find some time,
  50. contact Jim, and, if we're lucky and hardworking, maybe the next release
  51. will support SVR3 shared libraries.
