  13. I'm running SVR4 on an AT&T StarServer E, and using a version of rdist that
  14. someone at Dell kindly hacked for SV (sorry I don't remember his name).
  15. However, I'm running into problems.  Here's what I have set up:

  17. distfile:
  18.         HOSTS = ( bin@leto )
  19.         FILES = ( /usr/local/bin )
  20.         ${FILES} -> ${HOSTS}
  21.             install;
  22.             
  23.             
  24. as root, I run rdist, and get this error message:

  26.         remshd: Permission denied for root@sandworm
  27.         514: root: bin: rdist -Server
  28.         
  29. as bin, I get this error message:
  30.  
  31.         rcmd: socket: Permission denied
  32.         514: bin: bin: rdist -Server
  33.

  35. I also put a .rhosts file in the appropriate directories (/, and /usr/bin) on
  36. the remote machine.
