  22. I have Consensys SVR4 purchased in January.  It seems to be very standard
  23. and works quite well.  I have had minor problems, but nothing major.  It
  24. seems to be a very standard port because we also have an NCR box at work
  25. and it seems to be almost identical with sysadm and functionality.

  27. The minor problems I've had are like 'history | grep something' hangs.
  28. You can redirect history to a file, but don't pipe it.

  30. On rare occasion, my XServer seems to hang.  This is rare, but when it
  31. happens it's very bad news.  It will just be innactive for a while, then
  32. goes away and I'm left with no prompt from the system.  I can exit and
  33. come back in as root and then I need to reboot my system (gracefully).

  35. Other than that it works great and I'm very content with it.  Consensys
  36. has had a bad reputation for support but I think they are trying to
  37. improve this.  I haven't yet called myself because I haven't really needed
  38. to (yet).  I posted a question once about wanting to know about multiple
  39. com ports other than com1 and com2 and they FAXed me a solution.  I think
  40. most of the problems may have been with their boards and the drivers using
  41. it than with just the OS (my own observatoin).

  43. I have been hearing a lot of good things about DELL recently and you may
  44. want to look into this.  I don't know what the price is thought.  It
  45. certainly sounds well worth investigating.
