- Yup. And guess what? I solved my problems without crying to the net.
- And like I've said - I've had no problems since then. I'm quite sure
- that my Unix is just as stable as Larry's, and that I spent about the
- same amount of time configuring it as he did.

- No. I decided it was a quality product long before I got to know
- the people there. You've obviously no followed this newsgroup, or
- you would know that. If it were not a quality product, I would not
- have been spending enough time on the phone with them to know that
- they are a great bunch of guys. Things like the fact that I got my
- SVR4.0.4 upgrade for free after I made it very clear to them that I
- wasn't going to pay the price they were asking, spending about half
- an hour discussing with me what feature of SVR4.2 I wanted, to aid in
- their decision on whether or not to bring out such an offering, the
- fact that I was able to call up their SCSI developer to discuss a
- problem with hooking a SCSI device to the Sun at work (trying to
- understand what the cryptic SCSI error message meant.
-
- The point is that Dell is NOT the only quality SVR4 out there and that
- customer support counts for something, whether it has to do with bug
- reports, or just listening to what the customer has to say. If you've
- been following this newsgroup at all, you'll know that I've gone through
- three upgrades of Microport's SVR4, and each one is better than the
- previous one. Before their pricing went nuts, I used to recommend them
- highly, when people asked.
-
- But I've never felt the compulsion to pop up and say "My Unix is better
- than your Unix" whenever anyone asks for help, as Larry obviously does.

- Look at my .signature, then reread the above. If I were into party
- loyalty, I would be running AT&T/USL SVR4 on a AT&T/NCR computer. But
- I'm not. I'm running Microport SVR4 on a Tangent box. Not to mention
- the fact that I just stated that I'm probably leaving Microport for my
- next upgrade.
-
- Try not to sound like an idiot next time. Geez, Larry only does
- figurative "nyah, nyah"s. What a jerk!
