- Just like Bill mentioned above, I too am using the Adaptec 1542B controller.
- I have one installed in my 486/50 system running under ESIX 5.4 Release 4.
- It was never, to the best of my knowledge, caused a single failure for me.
- The 486/50 motherboard that I am using uses the OPTI chip set and the AMI
- BIOS and I have the bus speed selected at clock/6 ( this is selectable
- when you use the AMI BIOS ) or 8.33333mhz. I can honestly say, all the
- hardware and software is extremely reliable.
