- port and IRQ. This means that sending data to that com port will go to
- the modem. You are rather vague about which UNIX you are using but on
- my ESIX SVR4 system the serial ports have device names like:

- /dev/tty02s
- /dev/tty02h

- my modem was set up as com3 IRQ5 and sending any data to /dev/tty02 went
- to my modem (the numbers are 1 out of step so /dev/tty00 is com1 &c).
- Nothing has to be done to setup UNIX specially for the modem if the serial
- ports themselves are already setup.
