- Performance depends strongly on a) which Kermits are being run, and
- b) how they are configured. Best performance occurs with long packets and
- sliding windows, as might be expected. On the SCO side I would recommend
- C Kermit v5A which has both, and on the PC side MS-DOS Kermit. With those
- the "efficiency" of the line is very high (provided your modem does not
- get into the act by packet-izing and doing slow line turn arounds). A
- number of commerical implementations of Kermit for DOS are less than stellar,
- so try the master one noted above. CK 5A beta can be tested by grabbing
- a copy from watsun.cc.columbia.edu, cd kermit/sw.
