  25. about `how do I convert symbolic permissions to octal'.  Like last
  26. week.

  28. The consensus in that thread, by the way, was that you don't need
  29. to do this.

  31. Of course it's a legitimate question.  And all of us who have been
  32. reading netnews for longer than three minutes know that threads
  33. continually recycle.  But it's also legitimate to be peeved when
  34. a thread recycles _that quickly_.
