  13. I am using Unix SystemVR4, and want to find a way to generate the
  14. extended ASCII chars from the keyboard.  The reason for this is
  15. to generate the appropriate foreign characters (such as the vowels 
  16. with the accents, etc) needed in the various different languages 
  17. (specifically French, German and other European languages).

  19. I first thought it could be done somehow with the LOCALE stuff
  20. in Unix, setlocale(), chrtbl(), etc.  But the man pages don't go
  21. into how to generate or translate these characters.

  23. If anyone has any idea how to do this sort of thing, please
