  11. Problem: "logname" returns no login name, but who gives right answer,
  12.          problem with utmp/wtmp suspected.
  13. System: SCO R4.1, after upgrade applied.
  14. Tried: deleting utmp and wtmp, no change.

  16. I posted about this earlier. Some more info ...
  17. Problem only arose after upgrading from R4 to R4.1.
  18. Problem only affects userids that existed before the upgrade, new ones
  19. added after the upgrade do not have the problem.
  20. Problem only affects the first login by a userid; subsequent simultaneous
  21. logins by same user (e.g. on console multiscreen) do not have the problem
  22. and logname returns correct answer.
