- Use RCS (available from your local archive site with gnu//mit stuff
- or in comp.sources.unix).

- Gives you symbolic revision level names as well
- e.g. the "Fred" version for all files (different rev each file)

- Written after SCCS and in many people's mind MUCH better

- Heaps easier to get started with

- Reports are easier to run and able to be understood by suits
