- I've just broken /bin/ps on my Solbourne portable Sun. I reinstalled a tar
- archive of the /usr and /var partitions after a head crash, but now ps refuses
- to acknowledge the kernel. Error message follows:
-
- ps: /dev/mem: read error on ktextseg: Bad address
- ps: could not read kernel VM
-
- This may or may not be a Solbourne specific thing. I have a generic SunOS
- compatible kernel. OS/MP 4.0Da_Export (GENERIC/root)
-
- The ps -U in /etc/rc also fails with exactly the same error message. "config"
- crashes after make depend so I can't completely rebuild a new GENERIC kernel.
-
- Any ideas netters?
